Music is truly the one universal language. There are three of the more successful styles in the west, reggae,punk, and rap.

1. Born on the caribbean island of jamaica in 1960s.

2. developed from kind of Afro-Caribben music called mento.
a. Some musicaian changed mento into a music style called ska by adding a hestarion beat.

To sum up, popular music changes constantly. No matter popularity or disappear qucikly, all contribute to the power and excitement of popular music un our time.
